Good domain names disappear quickly. Somewhere, someone might be thinking up the same brand-idea as you. As soon as you know what your internet-address should be, you should go and register that domain name right away.
At our domain registration-page you can check if the domain name you have in mind is still available.

.com, .cn, or .org? Which type of domain is better?
Picking a top-level-domain usually goes with the language and the target group of the website. We consider each language version of a website an individual website.

For usability and findability reasons it useful to look at different language versions as individual websites. Although the websites look identical, the content is different, the target group is different, the phone number or office address might be different.

For multi-language website it makes sense to create a separate website for each language:

International English site at domain.com,

Chinese language at domain.cn

Japanese language version at domain.jp

This way each website version is focused on its target group. This also makes it much simpler to implement targeted campaigns in each country and to generally adapt the website to fit each local target group.

Protecting your brand name
A way to protect your brand name is to register the brand in all domain types.

domain.com, domain.net, domain.org, domain.cn, etc. This effectively prevents copy-cats from leaching of your marketing efforts. Some also opt to register mistyped and misspelled versions of their brand as domain names, i.e. domani.com, doman.com, domane.com. These extra domains can be set-up to seamlessly redirect the visitor to the intended domain. For example, we have set “danskadesign.com” to redirect to “danskadesigns.com“, to make sure our visitors can find us even if they forget the “s” at the end of our name.

Domain registration
These are issues to consider before registering your domain name or names.

At our domain registration-page you can check the availability of a wide variety of domain name types, and order them directly from our preferred domain registrar Moniker.

The most cost-effective way to market your website online is to place relevant text-links on websites with content that is relevant to your target group. Studies have showed that text-links are far more effective than banner adverts.

Google™ AdWords allows you to control the marketing of your website on the worlds most important search-index: Google.

You decide how much you want to pay per click. The higher you bid on a particular keyword, the better position your advertisement will get. The price per click can be as low as a few cents depending on keyword competition.

<!--

LinkConnector allows you to advertise on selected websites and gives you a very high level of control. This online marketing strategy is very targeted, so it is great if your marketing focus is very specific. Find out more about the benefits of becoming a LinkConnector Merchant.

Royalty-free images means that once you have downloaded an image you are free to use it on your website or in your printed materials as much as you like. This also means that you don’t buy the exclusive rights to the image, so you cant resell it, and you might see the same image on another website. Buying exclusive rights to images is far more costly than buying royalty-free images.

The price for downloading a royalty-free image usually depends on the size you need. Web-sized images cost from $1 to a few dollars and print size images cost a bit more (around $10 and up). You pay for downloading the images using a refundable prepaid account. Simple and easy.

There are several user-friendly stock image galleries with thousands of high quality stock royalty-free images to chose from. We use these services for getting most of the royalty-free stock images we need:

Fotolia – low price royalty-free images for your website or corporate identity. Prices from $1.

Getty Images – ultra-high quality stock images (as with everything, higher quality means higher prices).
